Kairos – Day 11 (noon)

Mobilize

It always amazes me how much stuff you accumulate over time when it is time to move. Most folk, me included, detest when the time for moving arrives and most times it is because I had not really prepared properly.    There were things I should have done over time that I had put off or merely forgotten to do and now it was time to deal with that.  The anxiety that we feel can be attributed to one, single fact:  “This could have been easier.”

It’s time to mobilize.  Mobilization is the process of preparing something for movement.  Whether it’s a military unit or a family, the process is similar.    The process includes but is not limited to: discarding, replacing, cleaning, packing, and verifying.

Discard – Are there things you should have gotten rid of long ago?  Is there something that the Lord has told you is unnecessary for the move?

Replacing – Is there something you have to replace?  Can you go back to where you first began and find what was lost?

Clean – Have you committed to getting it right?  Will you allow the Lord to polish you and make you more effective?

Packing – Are you prepared?  Have you talked to Him about what is needed?

Verify – Are you in the right place for the move?  Will the mover arrive and find you in place or will you be like the 5 virgins (Matt 25) who did not prepare and were in the wrong place when the bridegroom came.  The results of which are:

Matt 25 (KJV)

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

Prayer:

Father, prepare us for movement and help us as we sort through all of the clutter we have allowed to hang around for far too long.  Bring us back to where we first began.  Back when we walked outside and everything we saw was God.  Clean us up Lord and polish us so that you will be honored to call us, yours.  Help us to pack; to be prepared for whatever you need us to do, say, or be.  Father help us to turn on your GPS (Godly Positioning System), so that we will know where we are and where YOU want us to go.  We understand Lord, that sometime that means we will have to turn around.  We are OK with that.  Lord help your servants to be mobilized, ready to move or for battle.
