DEVO Day 21

Pastor Tony McKinney

Welcome to Day Twenty-One of our 21-day fast of 2023. You made it! You did it and we are so proud of you! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I know the Lord is saying, I’ve seen your sacrifice in this consecration…I’ve received your fasting…I’ve received your prayers,” and I’m pleased…now watch me continue to work in and through you!

God is opening your eyes to wonderful and mighty things, now walk in His power!
I pray you have experienced God’s presence in ways you will never forget. I pray that the Lord has opened your eyes to things you never saw before. I pray that you have been changed forever and that the results of these twenty-one days will be felt all around the world.

Take a moment and review your Commitment Sheet  in the Fasting Prayer Guide, (pg 3). Also see the End of Fast Reflection (Page 5).See where you excelled and where you were challenged. No matter what your commit was, you can certainly grow from here. Remember to always keep Jesus over Everything  &  simply do as He says. It’s an amazing time we get to live in. Maximize your purpose & destiny in HIM.

Alton A. Allen says:

The Daniel Fast is a copy or an echo of what Daniel did in his life. The significance of prayer and fasting for 21 days, as shown in the Daniel Fast, is to draw closer to God and have a more personal relationship with Him. The idea of the fast is to get our minds off food and focus on the Lord.

Fasting enables the Holy Spirit to reveal your true spiritual condition, resulting in brokenness, repentance, and a transformed life. Fasting will encourage the Holy Spirit to quicken the Word of God in your heart and His truth will become more meaningful to you.

As you end your fast before God, this is a great time to give thanks and celebrate His everlasting goodness. Remember as you eat again to dine with gratitude in your heart for His provision in your life, and to thank him for this precious time of commune you have enjoyed whilst fasting.

It is best to break a fast by eating fruit, broth, or a light salad, gradually adding other foods day by day depending upon the length of the fast.

Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, You are my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? You are the Strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

You have given me the desires of my heart. You have heard and answered my prayers. To You be the glory! Great things You have done!
I rest in You, awaiting the manifestation of all that I required and inquired of You. I thank You for giving me Your strength to face each day full of sap [of spiritual vitality]. Today I break this fast as You have directed. I thank You for this food because it is consecrated by Your Word and prayer.
