Be sober. Be vigilant

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober. Be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom it may devour.
We as Christian must stay alert and sober minded in order to be cautious of the tricks of the enemy. The enemy seeks to destroy us through our weaknesses and to use them against us. He comes in many forms to distract us from our walk with God. He can come in the forms of social media, drugs, alcohol, sex, and other addictions. He also tries to use our children, family, and friends to cloud our judgement and defy God. The adversary can twist your thoughts to make you believe that you are depressed, useless, anxious, fearful, and weak and that God has left you. Know that God is always with you, and he will not leave you. Call on him and stand firm on his word. God will never fail you. Stay sober minded and be vigilant. Do not heed the adversary’s tricks. You are strong in God.
Prayer: Heavenly father, I thank you for keeping me covered with your blood. Thank you for blocking distractions and addictions that could keep me from getting closer to you. Lord God, I thank you for your forgiveness, your mercy, and your grace. You are a wonderful God and I love you. You have shown me over and over again who you are. I put all my trust in you. You are awesome and all powerful. I give you all the glory. Honor, and praise. In your name I pray this prayer. Amen.
