Day 4

Word for today … Hope In God

Day 4

2 Chronicles 7:14(KJV)

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

People of God, not only do we have the greatest Intercessor in Jesus Christ, we also have people in positions of high authority infiltrating our government with faith, righteousness, and prayer. The Bible says for us to “Trust in the Lord…, and lean not to our own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5), for His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways our ways (Isaiah 55:8). We must pray for ALL people.

(1 Timothy 2:1-4) and HAVE FAITH IN GOD! (Mark 1:22) The Senate Chaplain reminded us during the 2017 National Day of Prayer, not to place our hope in various branches of government, nor in any alliances that we build with other nations, but rather Jesus Christ. As the songwriter Edward Mote wrote, ” My hope is built on nothing less, than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand.

Lord, God, truly Your authority reigns supreme above all. For it is in You that we live, move, and have our being. Help us to seek You daily in prayer, to cover our local, state and national governments. We need You God. We need Your hand to be on us in order to live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. Regardless of what we may see or hear, we acknowledge that You are still on the throne and still in control. We are, and will remain, one nation under God. In Jesus Name. Amen.
