Word for today … The Secret Place
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
Psalm 37:23 (AMP)
The Bible also speaks in Job 28:7 of “a path which no fowl knoweth, which the vulture eye hath not seen.” This scripture is referencing a secret place in prayer that the enemy cannot touch us. It goes on to say, “the lion’s whelps have not trodden it nor the fierce lion passed by it.” The vulture and the Lion are used metaphorically here as they are both predators. One that flies high and can detect its prey from far away & one that is considered the “King of the jungle” because of its prowess in getting the kill. These verses highlight a very powerful principle concerning prayer, which is, as we come to the Lord and draw close to Him, we are protected against the attacks of the enemy. No matter how high or low the enemy comes, God has us covered. That’s powerful. Think about it. Whatever is going on in your life right now, find yourself in the shadow of His wing, in the Secret place.
Prayer: Father, because of all you have done through your son, Jesus, I praise You that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and that I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty (whose power no foe can withstand). Help me to remember to take refuge in your shadow and abide daily in the place you have provided. Help me to accept the challenge to go deeper in you in prayer. Thank you for your divine protection. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
