The Profession of Your Faith
Hebrews 10:23, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised.
Hebrews 10:23 instructs us to hold onto the profession of our faith, without wavering. The online dictionary defines a profession as an act of declaring that one has a particular feeling or quality, especially when this is not the case. As believers, holding fast is indicative of our proclamation, a statement of cause, or affirmation of our faith in Jesus Christ. Too often we fall prey to holding on to things that are not of God. That allows fear, doubt, and unbelief to creep in. When Christians fail to place our trust in God and His Word, we miss out on the promises of God. God is truly faithful to us, but we cannot receive all of His goodness if we are not faithful to Him.
I have three questions for you:
1. What are you professing over your life?
2. What words have you spoken lately?
3. What are you holding onto that you should let go of?
