Catch the Vision Part 2

By Elder Alton Allen

I love the story of Joshua and his army marching around the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6). The wall was a massive structure that no army could penetrate, but that did not stop God from giving them the victory. Joshua didn’t do what most people would have expected. He put the praise leaders and band in front of the army. Then he told the people; “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!” Notice that he told the people to shout because the miracle had already happened! They could not see it with their natural vision, but the victory had already taken place in the supernatural. As the people of Israel shouted their praise, the walls crumbled to the ground. Are you in need of a miracle today? Give Him praise. Are you in need of healing today? Give thanks for His goodness! Begin to “call those things that are not as though they are” (Romans 4:17). It is easy for us to gravitate toward what is wrong in our lives. We all too often focus on the negative things that need to be changed when we should focus on what is good. Regardless of your current situation, God will use your adversities to your advantage. God will use your current testing to become your testimony. We should learn to be thankful for every circumstance, every trial because God will use it to draw us closer to Him. The Bible is full of promises from God for those who believe. Psalm 84:11 tells us that; “No good thing will He withhold from those who diligently seek Him.” John 10:10 declares that while the enemy comes “to steal, and to kill, and to destroy,” Jesus came to give you abundant life. I want to encourage you today to give your burdens to the Lord. Instead of dwelling on your obstacles, start thanking God that you are an overcomer, more than a conqueror. Praise Him in the shower. Praise Him during your drive to work. Praise Him while you are waiting in line at the grocery store. When you have an attitude of gratitude, there is no room for the enemy to plant seeds of fear or doubt in your life. When you are praising the Lord, thanking Him for the good things He is doing, there is only room for the goodness of God, and for His favor and His blessings to flow freely in your life. Choose today to be thankful in every circumstance, both good and bad. He is using every situation to shape you into the person He can use to further His Kingdom purposes. No one on this planet can do the job that God has ordained for you. You are one of a kind, a precious gem. We have much to be thankful for as a ministry as a people. We are reaching more people than you can imagine through social media outlets. It is their praise, that gives them the victory. “Your Praise Precedes Your Victory.”
