Devo Day 7

Day 7:
Renewed Strength

Scripture Reading:

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Reflection:

As we reach the seventh day of our fast, our bodies have begun to adapt to this new rhythm. The initial hunger pangs have subsided, and we may notice a newfound clarity and energy. Physically, our bodies are undergoing a remarkable transformation. They are shifting from relying on glucose to burning fat for energy, reducing inflammation, and initiating deep cellular repair. This process not only rejuvenates our physical health but also symbolizes a deeper spiritual renewal.

Just as our bodies are being cleansed and strengthened, so too are our spirits. Fasting is a powerful act of faith and surrender, a time to draw closer to God and seek His presence. The physical discipline of fasting mirrors the spiritual discipline of seeking a clean heart and a steadfast spirit. In this period of waiting, we are not idle; we are actively seeking, praying, and listening.

Prayer for the Day:

Heavenly Father, as we reach this milestone in our fast, we thank You for the physical and spiritual renewal taking place within us. Just as our bodies are being cleansed and strengthened, we pray that our spirits are also renewed. Help us to wait on You with patience and faith, trusting that You are working in us and through us. May this time of fasting draw us closer to You, and may we emerge from it with a deeper understanding of Your will and purpose for our lives.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
