Day 9

Word for today

Day 9

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

When a person accepts Jesus into their hearts from sin and eternal separation from God, we call this salvation. God puts His Spirit into our hearts, and our spirit then becomes fully alive. We are positionally sanctified from a spiritual perspective. Salvation is the first step towards regaining complete wholeness in mind, body, and spirit – as Adam & Eve were before the fall. Although we become a “new creature” in Jesus (2 Cor 5:17), aspects of our self that have been tainted by sin require healing and restoration. You see my dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ, sanctification is a process. We become transformed and renewed, day by day, into the likeness of Jesus (2 Cor 3:18, 4:6); but we have a responsibility to take an active role in “stripping off all that hinders us” (Hebrews 12:1) and to separate ourselves from all that contaminates us (2 Cor 7:1).

Consider this, if you want to be set free from drinking, wouldn’t it be prudent to stop visiting bars, and keeping liquor in your home? What are you still struggling with that you blame directly on God for not healing you from? What is it that you haven’t freely given to God? Start allowing God to help you overcome your shortfalls and bad habits. Start to obey God’s Word, The BIBLE; Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth. We must do more than just read it, we’ve got to do what it says. Let our hearts cry continually, “Not my will Lord, but your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank you for the victory secured for us through your Son, Jesus Christ. We realize the redemptive work of our dear Savior is finished and we are complete in Him. We also realize because of the finished work of Christ, we have power to overcome all that comes against us. We bless you for causing us to realize those things in our life that separate us from your will and we declare this day to release them all to you to flow in the total obedience you desire of us. We lay aside every weight and the sin that would so easily beset us and we vow to run with the patience the race that is set before us, Lord we give you all of us God, for all of you – nothing hidden. Yes, your will be done in me! Amen & Amen!
