Spiritual Blessings
Ephesians 1:3-8 NIV
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he[b] predestined us for adoption to sonship[c] through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,
Growing up in Church one of the major parts of the service was testimony service. Testimony service was about testifying of the goodness and blessing of God. When I look back, we always praised God for our physical blessings, but do you realize our spiritual blessings are so much more. Spiritual blessings are not a one-time thing they are an inheritance just because we are children of God. In Ephesians 1:3(NIV) It says we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Let me name a few First, we are chosen. We often think we chose Christ, but he chose us. Next, we are Holy and blameless in his sight. That is how Christ sees us and how we should see ourselves in him. Then we are adopted as sons and daughters with his pleasure and will. Sometimes we feel unworthy or how do we fit in. You are the child of the king! He has given you grace, unmerited favor. He loves you. You have been redeemed. You have been forgiven. That should change the complete trajectory of your testimony. Yes, it is beautiful to thank God and testify of the physical blessings, but as we pray and testify, remember to thank him for every spiritual blessing that he lavishes on us with pleasure.
